End of Day Maintenance

OVERVIEW
This procedure outlines the daily maintenance steps required to ensure optimal performance and long-term reliability of the Prestige L2 and XL2 DTF printers.

TOOLS REQUIRED
• Cleaning swabs
• Lint-free cloth
• Approved cleaning solution

SECTION 1
Initial Preparation

00:00:01 Printer Positioning
1) Press and hold the Left Arrow button.
2) Allow the printer carriage to move fully to the left side of the printer bed.
3) This position provides easier access for cleaning.

SECTION 2
Capping Station and Wiper Blade Cleaning

00:00:33 Cleaning the Capping Stations
1) Pour cleaning solution into a separate container.
Note: Do not place liquids directly on the printer bed.
2) Dip a cleaning swab into the solution until fully soaked.
3) Clean around the capping stations.
4) Ensure there is no ink buildup on the outer rubber seals.
5) Use a lint-free cloth to remove excess solution.
6) Proper cleaning ensures a tight seal and prevents printhead drying.

00:01:04 Cleaning the Wiper Blade
1) Using a cleaning swab with solution, clean the wiper blade thoroughly.
2) Remove all ink buildup.
3) Ink residue left on the wiper blade may smear onto the printhead and cause damage.

SECTION 3
Printhead Area Cleaning

00:01:18 Powering Off and Accessing Printheads
1) Power off the printer using the rear power switch.
2) Gently push the printer carriage fully to the left.

00:01:28 Cleaning Around the Printheads

6 Month White Channel Maintenance

OVERVIEW
This procedure explains how to perform a six month white channel maintenance. White ink naturally thickens over time and can build up inside dampers, tubes, and print head nozzles. Completing this maintenance helps prevent clogs, ink starvation, and print quality issues.

TOOLS AND MATERIALS
• Screwdriver
• Scissors
• Paper towels
• Tape
• Cleaning swabs
• Lint free cloth
• Syringe
• Isopropyl alcohol
• Clean water
• New white ink
• Waste ink container

SECTION 1
Gaining Access to the Ink Bay

1) Locate the ink bay on the printer.
2) Remove five screws total:
  • Three screws on the front
  • One screw on each side
3) Remove the ink bay cover and set it aside.

SECTION 2
Disconnecting the White Ink Container

1) Locate the white ink container.
2) Tighten the ink container cap.
3) Close the valve on the container.
4) Cut and remove the zip tie securing the cables.
5) Follow the cable to the connector and unplug it. This is the white ink stirrer cable.
6) Trace the cables down through the side hole of the ink bay and disconnect both connectors.
7) Pull the cable out from the top.
8) Disconnect the split cable connection.
9) Remove the ink tubes:
  • Use scissors to gently pry the tube open
  • Pull the tube off by hand
10) Wrap each tube end with a paper towel and secure with tape to prevent ink spills.
11) Remove the ink container from the ink bay.
12) Open the cap and dispose of remaining ink according to local regulations.

SECTION 3
Cleaning the White Ink Container

1) Take the container to a sink.
  • Avoid getting any electrical connectors wet.
2) Rinse the container with water and dispose of the water properly.
3) Repeat rinsing several times.
4) Remove the white ink stirrer by taking out the two screws.
  • Rotate the stirrer slightly while removing it.
5) Rinse and clean the ink stirrer.
6) Add a small amount of water to the container.
7) Use a cleaning swab to scrape solidified ink from the bottom.
8) Dispose of contaminated water.
9) Repeat until no solidified ink remains.
10) Perform a final rinse.
11) Allow the container and connectors to fully dry.

SECTION 4
Draining the Ink Lines

7) Turn circulation off.
8) Lower circulation power to prevent air introduction.
9) Turn the printer off.
10) Shake the new white ink bottle for 30 seconds.
11) Let the bottle sit for at least 5 minutes to allow bubbles to settle.

SECTION 5
Reassembly of the Ink Container

  • Rotate gently while inserting.
2) Secure the stirrer with two screws.
3) Place the ink container back into the ink bay.
4) Reconnect both ink tubes fully.

6) If any connectors may have contacted water:
  • Let them dry for at least 24 hours
  • Or wipe with isopropyl alcohol and a lint free cloth
7) Connect the split cable connectors.
  • Match colors correctly: black to black, white to white
8) Connect the final cable to its port.
9) Place the ink bay cover back on but do not secure with screws yet.

SECTION 6
Ink Charge and White Ink Recovery

1) Fill the ink container with white ink.
  • Puncture two holes in the ink bottle for smoother pouring.
2) Close the container cap loosely to allow airflow.
3) Open the valve on the container.
4) Set white ink circulation intensity to 100 percent.
5) Run one full circulation cycle.
6) Turn circulation off and lower power.
7) Perform a fill ink operation for one minute on H2 only.
8) While filling:
  • Check that the H2 pump is running
  • Check the waste ink tube for proper ink flow
9) After fill ink completes:
  • Perform two head cleanings back to back
10) Run a nozzle check.

If white ink is not fully recovered:

11) Rotate the H2 pump counterclockwise to remove it.
12) Disconnect the tube leading to the capping station.
13) Attach a syringe to the tube.
14) Pull the syringe fully and hold to create strong negative pressure.
15) Repeat pulling two to three times.
  • Pull at least 20 ml each time
16) Reconnect the tube carefully.
  • Ensure the tube is straight with no twists
17) Reinstall and lock the pump.

SECTION 7
Final Steps

1) Turn the printer back on.
2) Perform two head cleanings back to back.
3) Run a final nozzle check.
4) If the nozzle check is good:
