Prestige R2 Pro - Maintenance Guide

End-of-Day Maintenance

SECTION
00:00:01 Preparation and Required Supplies

INSTRUCTION STEPS
1) Reference the maintenance chart provided with the printer to confirm required procedures.
2) Gather all required cleaning supplies for the closing procedure.
3) Use the Up and Down arrow keys to move the media back onto the rollers.
4) Ensure the print head is no longer obstructed by media.

INSTRUCTION STEPS
1) Press the Left arrow button to move the print head fully to the left.
2) Dip a cleaning swab into cleaning solution.
3) Clean around the print head carefully.

00:01:32 Cleaning the Capping Station and Wiper Blade

INSTRUCTION STEPS
1) Leave the print head in its current position.
2) Using a new cleaning swab dipped in cleaning solution, clean around the capping station.
3) Use a cleaning swab with cleaning solution to wipe the wiper blade thoroughly.
4) Use a dry cleaning swab to remove excess cleaning solution from the wiper blade.

00:01:32 Cleaning the Cap Tops

INSTRUCTION STEPS
1) Use a cleaning swab dipped in cleaning solution to wipe ink from the tops of the caps.
2) Clean all exposed plastic areas around the caps.
3) Use a dry cleaning swab to remove excess liquid or cleaning solution.

00:01:32 Wetting the Cap Sponges

INSTRUCTION STEPS
1) Fill a syringe with cleaning solution.
2) Apply cleaning solution to wet both cap sponges.

00:02:22 Final Steps and Shutdown

INSTRUCTION STEPS
1) Press the Enter button to return the print head to its home position.
2) Perform a head cleaning to drain cleaning solution from the capping station.
3) Leave the printer powered on.
4) Turn off the heater.
5) Turn off the LED lights.


Weekly Maintenance


SECTION
00:00:01 Preparation and Waste Ink Handling

INSTRUCTION STEPS
1) Reference the maintenance chart provided with the printer to confirm required weekly procedures.
2) At the end of the production week, empty the waste ink bottles.
3) Empty waste ink bottles as needed between weekly intervals.

CHECKLIST
- Waste tube does not touch the waste ink
- Waste tube is positioned downward at all times

00:00:44 Media Positioning and Power Down

INSTRUCTION STEPS
1) Use the Up and Down arrow keys to move the media back.
2) Press the Left arrow key to move the print head toward the center of the printer.
3) Power off the printer.

00:01:24 Cleaning the Encoder Strip

INSTRUCTION STEPS
1) Use 90 percent or higher isopropyl alcohol only.
2) Apply isopropyl alcohol to a lint free cloth.
3) Gently clean the surface of the encoder strip.
4) Move the print head as needed to access the full length of the encoder strip.

CHECKLIST
- Do not use any alcohol below 90 percent
- Do not use alternative cleaning solutions on the encoder strip

00:01:24 Cleaning Air Suction Vents

INSTRUCTION STEPS
1) Use a new lint free cloth with isopropyl alcohol.
2) Wipe the surface of the air suction vents.
3) Move the media guides to fully access the vent surface.

00:01:24 Cleaning Pinch Rollers

INSTRUCTION STEPS
1) Release the pinch rollers using the roller release lever.
2) Allow the rollers to move freely.
3) Use a dry lint free cloth to clean the pinch rollers.
4) Do not apply alcohol or cleaning solution to the rollers.

CHECKLIST
- Alcohol must not be used on pinch rollers
- Using alcohol can cause roller rubber to harden and crack

SECTION
00:02:24 Power On and Media Reloading

INSTRUCTION STEPS
1) Power the printer back on.
2) Allow the print head to return to the home position.
3) Route the film under the guide bar.
4) Lift the media roller handle to raise the rollers.
5) Move media guides outward to avoid obstruction.
6) Pull the media roll taut from the back.
7) Align the media straight from the roll into the printer.
8) Lower the handle to secure the media rollers.
9) Move the two media guides inward just enough to cover the top of the film.

CHECKLIST
- Media guides should not press tightly against the film
- Media guides should only prevent film lifting and head strikes

SECTION
00:02:56 Final Shutdown State

INSTRUCTION STEPS
1) Leave the printer powered on.
2) Turn off the heater.
3) Turn off the LED lights.
